Coach Matthews enters his third year at the healm for the Hocking College Hawks in 2017. The Hawks have shown steady improvement over the past two seasons and Coach Matthews is excited to get to work this year. The Hawks are the lone NJCAA football program in Ohio and Region XII. The Hawks are currently Independent as they do not belong to a conference for Football. Coach Matthews is excited to measure where his program is in comparison to some of the most elite East Coast Schools in the NJCAA in the 2017 season. 

Coach Matthews is credited for the idea and inception of adding intercollegiate athletics at Hocking College and has done a tremendous job leading the charge with the football team. The focus of Hocking College Football has been to transform young men into productive members of society while giving them a chance to play football. 

Coach Matthews and his staff have done an excellent job helping young men transform their lives and have been able to send a few players on to continue their careers at all levels college football. 

Coach Matthews has a background in Law Enforcement and is a graduate of Terra State Community College's Police Science Program. He is also working towards finishing is Bachelor's degree at Ohio University. 

Coach Matthews is a dedicated and loyal leader but in his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife, Denise and daughter, Bella.
