Kevin Cox
Title: Special Teams Coordinator/LBs

Kevin Cox enters his first season with Hocking College as the Special Teams Coordinator and Linebackers Coach. Cox brings 20+ years of high school and college coaching experience along with two years of playing experience at the NJCAA level and two years of playing experience at the NCAA Division I level.

Prior to coming to Hocking College, Cox was the Special Teams Coordinator and Running Backs Coach at Fremont Ross High School. Before his time on the sidelines with Freemont Ross he was an Assistant Coach with the Riverdale Warriors High School Football and Track teams in Murfreesboro, TN. The Warriors were a perennial powerhouse in Tennessee High School Football. Prior to his time at Riverdale, Cox was the Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Backs coach at his alma mater, Chowan College for three years. Cox also was an Assistant Coach on the Football and Track teams at Deep Creek High School in Chesapeke, VA prior to making his debut at Chowan. While at Deep Creek, Cox and the Hornets dominated southeast Virginia in both football and track. 

Cox also has many years of experience coaching and competing in Olympic TaeKwonDo on the National level. 

Cox was a stand out player at Chowan Junior College in Murfreesboro, TN where he was named to the NJCAA All-Star Game in 1985 as a Strong Safety and Punter. After his playing career at Chowan he continued to pursue football and higher education at Middle Tennessee State University. Cox was also a Rugby player while at Middle Tennessee State University. After his playing days at Middle Tennessee State University came to a close he continued to play rugby at he Semi-Professional level with Nashville RFC. 

Cox graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor's degree in Education and a minor in Coaching and Health/Physical Eduation. He is currently pursuing his Master's of Science in Coaching Education at Ohio University. 

Kevin is a Retired Law Enforcement Major, Special Operations Leader from Nashville-Davidson County Sherriff's Office in Nashville, TN. 

Coach Cox is originally from Chesapeke, Virginia and has two sons Zane (22) and Caden (18). 

Zane is a former player at Hocking College who is now playing at the NCAA Division I level for the University of Tennessee at Martin.
