Hocking College Archery Brings One Gold and Three Bronze from USCA Outdoor Nationals
Hocking College Archery travelled to Yankton, South Dakota to compete in the United States Collegiate Archery Outdoor Nationals and the Hawks had another strong showing bring home an individual Gold Medal and three Team Bronze Medals in Mixed Compound, Men's Compound, and Men's Bow Hunter Divisions.
The Mixed Compound team was comprised Hocking College standouts Rebekah Matthews and Hunter Saylors. This duo was also crowned Indoor National Champions earlier this year.
The Men's Compound team was made up of Hunter Saylors, Hunter White, and stand in Rebekah Matthews. Matthews was a stand in for the men's competition since Hocking did not have an additional men's compound shooter. Matthews held her own and helped her team to another Bronze Medal.
In the Men's Bow Hunter Division Sean Cook and Justin Hecker also locked up Bronze with a stellar performance. This was the first time this duo was able to podium this year as a team.
In individual competition Caitlin Hartman was the only individual to podium. Caitlin, another stand out shooter for Hocking, took on the defending National Champion in Women's Basic Bow and came away with the victory. Justin Hecker and Margie Burkhammer were also in podium level shoots but both fell in the Bronze Medal Match to finish fourth.
