About Hocking College Equestrian Team

This is the first year in the Hocking College athletic department for Equestrian.  The team competes in the Western Horsemanship category of the International Horse Shows Association (IHSA).  Coach Stacey Bailey leads the team which will compete in eight competitions on four dates; two in the fall and two more in the spring.

Stacey Bailey is the coach of the first-year equestrian team.  Stacey is originally from central Ohio. She attended Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science and a Master’s Degree in Horse Science.

Bailey competed on the equestrian team in both English and western, and in 2011 was the IHSA National Champion in Alumni Reining and Top Three in Alumni Horsemanship. She also was the assistant coach for the equestrian team and stock horse team and had her own horse training and instruction business during graduate school.

She has since lived in Colorado and Oklahoma where she taught and coached at colleges before moving back to Ohio to work at Hocking. She teaches in the equine program as well as coaching the equestrian team.
