About Hocking College eSports Team

eSports at Hocking College is competitive, team-based video gaming. Tournaments and intercollegiate play will be managed through the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) and TESPA.

Hocking College is currently looking for players interested in Overwatch. Any student interested and willing to try out is welcome. Overwatch pits two teams of 6 against each other in a first-person shooter. Strategy, teamwork, and quick reactions are necessary to succeed.

Steve Wilson has been gaming all his life, but things really took off for him when he started to play Ultima Online (UO). In UO, Wilson would develop strategy and organize players to defeat the games hardest content and defend our territories from rival players.

Wilson made his living for several years by controlling in-game markets and winning cash-based tournaments. He later moved on to World of Warcraft and his arena team was awarded gladiator title multiple times during the Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King eras.

Wilson now has a Ph.D. in Information Security and works as Hocking College’s Chief Information Officer.
