Hawks Handle Trailblazers for Bounce Back Win
Hocking College Powers Past Ohio Christian, 73–59, Behind Dominant Team Effort
The Hocking College women's basketball team put together one of its most complete performances of the season on Monday night, earning a decisive 73–59 victory over Ohio Christian University. With balanced scoring, strong rebounding, and contributions from across the roster, the Hawks controlled the game from start to finish.
Carmyn Woods led the Hawks with a standout double-double, pouring in 14 points while grabbing 10 rebounds and adding 3 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. Her energy on both ends helped Hocking build and sustain momentum throughout the night.
Hawa Ba anchored the paint once again, finishing with 9 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks, commanding the interior defensively and contributing as a playmaker. Hazely Wagner posted one of her strongest all-around games of the season, recording 7 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks, impacting every phase of the game.
In the backcourt, Lilly Weaver added 8 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and a steal, leading the team's transition offense, while Gianna Boyce provided 9 points, 2 rebounds, an assist, and a block, giving Hocking consistent scoring and defensive presence.
The Hawks also showcased their depth, with multiple players making key contributions off the bench. Tori Rose nearly recorded a double-double of her own with 9 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal, bringing toughness and rebounding to the floor. Arianna Fee provided a spark with 5 points, while Aliyah Brock added 3 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal, giving Hocking versatility in the backcourt. Aubriona Benjamin chipped in 4 points, 1 rebound, and 2 assists, and Aubree Carroll added 2 points and a rebound. Emani Tynes rounded out the scoring with 3 points, helping seal the win late.
With multiple players scoring and four Hawks grabbing at least 9 rebounds, Hocking dominated the boards and controlled the pace. Their defensive pressure throughout the night stalled Ohio Christian's offense, allowing the Hawks to maintain a comfortable lead in the second half.
