Hocking Baseball Places 3 on All-Conference Team, Deveraux Claims Gold Glove Award

Hocking Baseball earned postseason recognition this week as three players were named Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) All-Conference honorees; capped off by Ryan Deveraux receiving the Gold Glove award the conference.

The all-conference teams and major awards are determined by a vote of the conference's head coaches.

Ryan Deveraux capped off his stellar freshman campaign by earning the Conference's Gold Glove award to go along with All-Conference honors. The Casper, WY native was exceptional in the outfield and behind the plate, recording 38 putouts in conference without recording any errors. Offensively, Deveraux was equally as impressive, batting .408 with 16 doubles, 4 triples and 9 home runs. He added 51 RBIs, 70 runs scored and 23 stolen bases on the year. Deveraux also set three single-season records at Hocking, including batting average (.408), hits (71) and runs scored (70).

For the second year in a row, Sophomore Jonathon Woedl earned All-Conference honors at the infield position. On the year, Woedl batted .353 with a .976 fielding percentage on 336 attempts. Additional offensive highlights for Woedl included 11 doubles, 4 home runs, 8 stolen bases, 36 runs scored and 49 RBIs. Woedl ended his career at Hocking as the all time hits (124) and RBI (105) leader in school history.

Freshman Andrew Prestel took home All-Conference honors after an impressive year on the mound. In 47.0 innings of work, Prestel compiled a 3-3 record with a 5.55 ERA. He struck out 53 batters while issueing 30 walks on the year.

Additionally, the Hawks collected 4 Conference Player of the week accolades (Grayson Briggs 2, Kael Longwell, Ryan Deveraux) and 2 Conference Pitcher of the week accolades (Andrew Smith 2) throughout the season. The Hawks concluded the year 25-31, second highest win total in program history.
